The Great American Pigeon Race

Six persecuted pigeons compete for a prize piece of pigeon real estate.

Why pigeons for an animated fable? Two reasons: Hitchcock's THE BIRDS scarred me as a young girl when I saw it on television. I've been terrified of birds ever since. Pigeons are considered "flying rats" by many -- so they seemed the perfect choice to illustrate the "tolerance" theme behind GREAT AMERICAN PIGEON RACE. The pigeons are multicultural -- and a perfect way to portray the message "divided we fall, united we don't!"
